Grandmother's Choice BOW - Amethyst

Barbara Brackman's choice this week is the Amethyst block, first published in the Kansas City Star newspaper in 1931. She recommends a green and purple color way, in honor of Britain's Women's Social and Political Union, the more radical arm of the suffragist movement that came to be called Suffragettes (I know, confusing, yes?). I was happy to oblige, as these are the main colors of the batiks I am working with:

Pretty, eh? Can't wait to see what next week brings. In the meantime, you can checkout all the different blocks in the Grandmother's Choice sew-along here. It's amazing how different the blocks look, depending on the fabric chosen.
